On a “soapbox” in St Austell

Today I was pleased to attend a “soapbox” in St Austell town centre to give a short speech and then answer questions from members of the public.

Organised by the wonderful Ally Watkins, it was very enjoyable. I would like to thank Ally for arranging the event and everyone who came to support me. The questions were extremely wide-ranging – on the NHS, austerity, planning, eco-town, austerity, education, Europe, and so much more.

I hope I did Mebyon Kernow proud.

I am pictured above being introduced by Ally, alongside a cardboard cut-out of Aiden Turner’s Ross Poldark … don’t ask!
